MAGIC

On this quest to find myself, I established earlier this year that whatever I wanted to do I would indeed do it, no hesitations or questions asked. This may sound very simple for some… but girl, I second guess EVERYTHING.  Honestly I don’t know why but I do it often so I’m going to just claim it as a talent :-). Now I have to be honest this “talent” has kept me out of a lot of trouble but has also limited my growth.

The middle of last year I realized my dream could no longer wait on me.  Fear and doubt have to become a thing of the past to get where I want to go. Without hesitation I decided I wanted to attend Sourcing at MAGIC, one of the largest Trade Shows in the country.  Although anxious,overwhelmed, and doubtful I did it, and have yet to regret it.  A very close friend of mine told me to go for it.  She emphasized “You will never feel ready, but at some point you have to just go for it.” I did just that and it lead me to Vegas baby!

Vegas taught me many things about myself the biggest being,  growth really begins when you step outside of your comfort zone.  I’m sure you hear people say it all the time.   This was my first trip to Vegas, I didn’t have a girlfriend with me to rescue me from uncomfortable situations, or to chat with throughout seminars.  I had to engage in  conversations and meet people…and just be Dee.  I was surprised by how I adapted being in an uncomfortable situation ALONE. I learned a lot with that trip not only about myself but my journey to becoming an entrepreneur.

Looking back I have to think of all the times I’ve passed up on an opportunity because I either doubted myself or was intimated by the situation itself. This post is out of the norm for me. As I’m writing this I’m wondering why I’m sharing to begin with, but I think it’s bigger than me. I think I needed to hear this today, girlfriend you are powerful…you are stronger than you know. When you release yourself from your own restraints, that my dear is when you really begin to grow.
