Eye Candy

Now a girl loves a good piece of eye candy….Idris Elba, Kofi Sirboe(Ralph Angel 🙂 ), Jay Ellis, Morris Chestnut…need I say more?! I got a thing for Dark Chocolate! Tall, dark and bearded …with a MEANNN swag to be exact!
Ok I’ll just stop here I don’t want to get your hopes up but I’m glad I got your attention. Although these men are fine in EVERY right today’s eye candy is curtesy of Warby Parker.
So one of my best childhood friends took the ultimate oath of relationships and became #goals…she got married! I was ever so honored to be part of her special day in the beautiful city of Puerta Vallarta Mexico. We definitely took the turn up to another level, I in turn realized after returning to the States I might have partied a bit too much and left my glasses. Now on a scale of 1 to Mr. Magoo I’m about a 2.5 on the visionally impaired scale. Although my vision isn’t too “bad” I’ve grown accustomed to the extra “crispness” my glasses provide. Lets compare it to doing your makeup in front of a dirty vs. clean bathroom mirror. Or better yet doing your makeup in front of that magnified mirror. ..You know the one that doesn’t spare any feelings and shows you every hair , pore, and blemish….ok ok I digress. Point is after about 2 months without glasses I decided it was time to make that purchase.
Now because I’m a bit “extra” and love all things unique and fashionable I decided this time I wanted to invest a little more in my glasses and go for something “high end”. Now I’m not one to waste money on things (you’ll learn that over time) my insurance

covers a big part of frames more so designer frames. One Saturday I decided to test out a few spots in my area that I knew specialized in designer frames. I had a not so pleasant experience with the first spot I visited. I can be a bit awkward at times but the shopping experience just didn’t feel right. I was just about to call it a wrap, head back to my optometrist, and “settle” for something I saw a while back until I remembered hearing about a spot online. A quick google search sent me to Warby Parker, a trendy”online boutique” for reasonably priced eyeglasses. What’s even better I learned that they have an actual store in the DFW area! Listen even if you don’t wear prescription glasses its worth the visit!
To start, if you don’t have a Warby Parker in your area no worries! The brand caters to the online shopper, you can do a FREE in home trial of up to 5 pairs for 5 days! Yeah that’s right test out the frames before making the commitment! It’s worth it, I made 2 visits to the store and each time I swear I saw a different pair. My “stylist” actually pulled some “exclusive” pairs from the back just for me. Talking about feeling “Bad and Bougie”lol. Secondly they offer sunnies and these aren’t just “basic” sunnies they even have the now trendy Mirrored glasses. I’ll definitely be coming back for a pair! To put everything into perspective their prescription glasses start at just $94 that includes the frames, your prescription, anti scratch and glare coating. Oh it doesn’t stop there because you can also have your prescription added to your sunnies! For those of you with commitment issues they
have a pretty generous 30 day refund policy and a 1 year warranty on the lenses at no additional charge. More than anything I love the fact that they are a socially responsible company , check out their “Buy a Pair, Give a Pair” initiative. I mean can it get any better?
Ok girlfriend, don’t take my word for it…or do but nonetheless check them out! I’m sure they won’t disappoint! It literally took me less than an hour to finalize a pair and place an order. My glasses arrived in about 4 days, super pleased with my experience and my new Collis‘…very geek chic with a hint of pink!
