The Difference in Dreaming and Believing
Hey girlfriend!
So this has definitely been a long time coming. To date I’ve written two business proposals, dabbled in writing by attempting to manage my first “blog” in 2014 (yea it lasted all of a month and a few days), started a “part-time side hustle” reselling thrifted clothing (you know because EVERYONE wants to look good on a dime) and drafted multiple ideas to generate income while expressing my love for Fashion and Shopping. I’ve come up with “ahhhmazingggg” business ideas, got started, slowed down, set it to the side…started again, doubted myself, reminded myself that “you can do anything you put your mind to” then just as quickly put it back on the back burner followed by a “what were you thinking, do you think people would actually want to take advice from you?!”. To say the least I’ve dreamed, envisioned and attempted all these ideas at some point. In some cases all in the same day lol. One thing that was consistent is that it never escaped my subconscious.
Anyone who REALLY knows me knows I LOVE to shop! I love all things fashion and style, mainly I’m just a creative person by nature. The past few years of my life I’ve been stuck emotionally. More recently I’ve accepted the fact that I HATE my job….phew there I said it. I …..HATE ….MY …JOB…. Don’t get me wrong I’m forever grateful that I have a job and the opportunity to help people, but beyond that it’s just not rewarding.

Creative minds don’t work well being tied to a specific schedule or confined to a cubicle. Between toggling back and forth between client profiles, Asos,Steve Madden, a couple of my favorite fashion bloggers and Fashion Bomb Daily your girl is a pro! But you know there’s always a hater…i.e they finally blocked me from accessing FBD from work, it’s all good though that’s why I have a cell duhhh! I digress . Anywho fashion is what makes Dee … Dee.
I’ve been scared, scared to take a leap of faith, scared to share my creativity with others scared of being laughed at and more importantly scared of failure. Social media doesn’t make things any easier either, it’s pretty much sink or swim out here. My biggest fear at this point is regretting that I never tried or put any of my plans to action as a result of fear. That’s the most crippling reality to come to terms with as I’ve been there before always reminded of the “what if’s”. I’m sure this road will not be easy, I’m sure there will be people who absolutely HATE everything I have to share, there will be people who laugh or doubt me all together. At this point I’m willing to take that chance, hell maybe I’ll get a good laugh with them.
To all those who genuinely support me, encouraged me and became part of my growth I sincerely thank you from the bottom of my heart! To those of you who don’t know me, welcome, I hope you find this entertaining and insightful. I hope that we can learn and grow together, after all I’m just a girl who FINALLY decided to go for it!
xoxo
